We arrived in SC late yesterday afternoon. We didn't do much other than unload and eat dinner and Megan went down in her pack-n-play, in a strange room without incident. It even seriously stormed before she fell asleep and she didn't mind at all.
This morning she worked on her standing stamina at a chair in the living room. She did really well and had a blast because she could push the toys around and they didn't fall off like they do at home when she stands at the table.
We decided to have an easy, relaxing day today and just did some grocery shopping before lunch. Megan was all over the place playing with her toys. All of the floors are wood so her toys make great noises and when she pushes/hits them they fly across the room - which she loves. She chased them everywhere and just had a great time.
After nap we went to get ice cream for snack - because, after all, we are on vacation. Megan liked the ice cream but would only take a bite if it was alternated with her cereal bar. She likes the taste of ice cream, but is not a fan of the coldness.
Before dinner she worked on standing stamina some more and did great again. She is getting stronger and stronger. After dinner I gave her a bath and I used a headband while I was giving her the bath.
*back story* A few days ago I started playing with her with the headband. She likes to have it on her head and take it off and put it on my head and vice versa.
So, after the bath I was rubbing on her lotion and sat her up to get her back. At this point she noticed the headband and, using my t-shirt, pulled herself up onto her knees and then into standing on my legs so that she could reach it. She stood there, all by herself (I wasn't supporting her or even touching her) for 5-6 minutes just playing with the headband. This is HUGE. She hasn't wanted to stand anywhere but the table. And something else that was really great when she was done she got down onto one knee and then brought the other leg around. Yay little miss!
