4T shirts, using picture system, sleeping, elephant, grabbing with toes and the zoo

I moved Megan up to 4T shirts a couple of weeks ago.  They are a little long in the sleeve and some of them are too wide in the neck but it needed to be done.  When her teachers would walk with her, holding her hand, a good portion of her back/tummy was exposed.

Megan has started using a picture system to communicate.  We are using it for snack, playtime (to choose what she wants to do: sing, play with various toys, brush her hair, etc) and at school for a couple of activities.  She is doing really well with it.  We will be implementing this for her to use for all of her communication needs once she learns all of the pictures and understands it.  She will use it in conjunction with her signs and her voice.  She is using more and more sounds and "words" this past week as well.

Megan has been doing great sleeping.  She has been getting close to 11 hours a night for a few nights in a row.

A few days ago while looking at a book I asked Megan where the elephant was in it and she pointed right to it.  I didn't even know she knew what an elephant was.  She also correctly picked out the cow and monkey and a few other animals.  That was the first time she pointed at the correct animal on request.  Previously the only way to get her to identify something was to get her to kiss it.

Megan loves to use her feet to do tasks.  Since she is super flexible she uses them to do all kinds of things - like push in the coins in her piggy, or open doors on toys.  The other days she was grabbing my shirt sleeve with her toes and moving it around.

Megan was less impressed with the zoo than Sam.  She enjoyed being outside, though she was upset every time a red wagon went by - I had them in our stroller instead of the wagon and she really wanted the to be in a wagon.  When we got to the carousel and she saw it, well that was when she was happy to be there.  She jumped all the way down the line and started clapping and dancing.  She tried to climb the fence to get to it.  As soon as I put her on the horse she started her happy dance/clapping/giggling routine and kept giving me kisses.  She had so much fun.  We got off, got back in line and then rode again and she was beaming.  She enjoyed the train ride as well.
