Megan did so great at the egg hunts this year. She did well at the city hunt we went to, but didn't get very many (4) eggs since the other kids were running around and she was slower; but she did great picking them up and putting them in her bucket.
On Saturday morning she loved doing the egg hunt with Sam. She did great walking around and picking up the eggs and she was so happy. She was smiling and clapping and jumping the entire time. After the hunt we sat down inside and she discovered that Uncle Mike and Aunt Elaine's egg hunt meant that there were snacks in the eggs. We have always hidden empty eggs so this was a big deal. When I opened the first one she immediately grabbed the graham bunnies and ate them. She then ate one of the cheddar bunnies but didn't eat anything else until she saw the vanilla animal cookies - those she gobbled up.
Then I opened the egg that held the chocolate bunny. It was wrapped in foil so she didn't know what it was. I unwrapped it and told her to take a bite - she was a little hesitant at first but as soon as she got a taste it was on. She wrapped her arm around mine so that I couldn't get the bunny away from her mouth and she ate it all. She was so happy she was doing her little dance the entire time.
When it was time for the afternoon hunt Megan wasn't that into it. Just like Sam she wanted to see what was in the eggs when she picked them up and then she just wasn't interested in picking up more than just a few. At that point she just wanted to sit down and play with her eggs, so we let her.
This morning she got her Easter basket. In it we included some plastic jumping frogs and carrot bomb things. Will showed her how to make the frogs jump once and she had it down. She was having so much fun jumping the frogs around. She also loved it when I threw the carrots at her and daddy.
