Yesterday's riding session was great. First, it was about 10 degrees cooler and there was a breeze so no one got overheated. During her session Megan decided to turn around on Daisy while they were moving. It is a good thing there are people holding onto her. At one point for a few seconds they had Daisy trotting and Megan loved it - she was all smiles. I took my camera and hopefully got a few good shots of it.
Toward the end of the session they had Megan ride Daisy out of the arena and over to the stables. They took her off and she stood leaning up against Margie while the volunteer got Star ready for her. Star is the bigger horse that they were hoping Megan could spend some time on. The rider after Megan gets to ride on Star so Margie decided to get her/him (I am not sure) ready a few minutes early and let Megan ride her back to the arena and stay on until the next rider arrived. She ended up getting to do 2 or 3 laps and she liked it until the other therapist brought Daisy back in for another child. When Megan saw Daisy you would have thought she was her personal pony - she did not want that other child to be on her.
Megan is continuing to stand up in her crib. She has even managed to stand up at the back rail which is much higher than the rest of the railing. She grabbed onto the slats and pulled up that way. That is the first time she got up with her hands in a different position than just flat on a surface.
Will said that bath time last night was an adventure. He was constantly having to remind Megan that we sit down in the bath tub - she wasn't standing up but she was getting up on high knees to do everything. This is new - she has always just reached for the ledge, etc only getting up on her knees very rarely.
Tonight before dinner Megan was riding on her trike and she has discovered that she can reach so many things that she couldn't before by standing up. She rode over to the kitchen table, stood up and reached for items on it. I love that she is realizing all of the things she can see and do when she is standing - I want her to get to really explore her world.
