Yesterday, thanks to the time change, Will wanted to go out for breakfast. He picked Cracker Barrel and we were on our way.
Megan has had a bowl of cereal (rice, oatmeal) everyday for breakfast for about 10 months. She also gets fruit and cheerios. We have a few jars of baby food leftover in the pantry so I grabbed a jar of rice & pears just in case.
She was doing so great waiting for food, and I didn't want her to lose it so I had Will offer her some of the baby food, which she happily ate. She had 3-5 bites when the food arrived. I cut up some of my scrambled eggs and tore up a few pieces of biscuit for her and Will gave her a bite of biscuit. At this point had you been watching our table you would have thought that Will gave her the most horrible thing ever. She ate it, but she scrunched up her face and just started balling. She wouldn't take her milk, a puff or even more cereal. She was so upset. Daddy had hurt her feelings because he took away her "cereal". Finally after about a minute Will managed to get her to take a bite of the baby food and all was well. She stopped crying and was happy again, though she kept giving him this look like "how dare you and don't do that again".
She did eat some apples and puffs and a bite of grits once the baby food was all gone. Looking forward to 2 years of age when we transition off of the current cereal - fun times ahead.
FINALLY...she woke up this morning and the top tooth in the front has finally broken through. That one took 3 months.
